We trekked to Tat Mok Waterfall through the village and rice paddies that took almost 1hr after arrived from the boat ride. It can be hot during the day, as there was barely a shade along the way (prepare enough water, cap, sunglasses, sunscreen)

There was not much water in the waterfall in dry season (Oct-Apr), but still have enough that we able to swim and refreshing after a long flat trek under an intense sunlight

I had the oil massage at Sabai Sabai Massage shop. It was such a treat after a long ride from Luang Prabang to Nong Khiaw

The comfort almost got me to sleep during the massage session. The place was clean, the oil smell nice, and the massage therapist done quite well on their part

9. Pha Thok Cave

Pha Thok Cave used to be the haven during the war. I still wonder until these days how they able to stay in there at that time. The cave separated into three, in the cave contains with hospital, bank, military operation, and other units

The bomb still active in the area, so please stay on path. The cave located around 3km away from Nong Khiaw city centre. In order to reach the cave, you need to walk through bamboo bridge and cross the rice paddies. It was quite a spectacular view in front of the cave

The locals turned their home into the homestay for travelers to stay and learn about their culture and lifestyle. The main local product is a handmade scarf, bag, cloth that made from cotton through tradition wavering process

Nong Khiaw Laos Travel Guide

There is a tour available from Nong Khiaw to visit Baan Na-Yang-Tai, local house, taste authentic homemade food, and learn about the wavering process from start to finish (Luckily I met Laos travel Youtuber that gave me a tour). The locals were so friendly and welcome that will make you fall in love with the simplicity

Pha Chao Cave located further away from Baan Na-Yang-Tai before you reached the huge tobacco field. We found it unexpectedly, the entrance was so small that we had to crawl in. The Buddha statue stood there peacefully with a natural light shine on it through a little hole above
