Take a trip as early as possible, as the place can be very crowded especially on the weekends. The mountain road is not quite well-maintain and consists of twists and turns, experienced driver is highly recommended behind the wheels

Mossy Forest

The unmissable destination for the hikers out there that you would definitely have Mossy Forest on top of the Cameron highlands travel guide list. Let dive into a calm and peaceful hike through one of the oldest forest in Malaysia that covered with mist and variety kinds of moss and flora. Challenge yourself to go on top of the Mount Brinchang, the second highest mountain of the country, situated at 2,032 metres above sea level

The forest is normally close on the rainy season due to the landslide and even if there is a path on the maps, you’re not allow to drive up there (every car/motorcycle rental will have a disclaimer on this). Jungle Trail 10

The trail start at the construction site behind Tanah Rata village, hike up the steep climb that will lead you to the signal station. Soak yourself with the view of Tanah Rata townscape and a glimpse of Cameron Valley Tea House before heading down. Jungle trail 10 has a total distance of 7.9km that is totally safe to do the hike alone

Tips: The fun part is to do hitchhiking after the end-route to visit Cameron Tea Plantation, fuel yourself before heading back home

The bus will take around 4hrs from Kuala Lumpur to Cameron highlands bus station that located near Tanah Rata. Alternatively, you can rent a car or motorcycle to reach there

Tips: Cameron and Genting highlands is one of the favourite loop by motorbike for two-wheels lovers

Traveling Around Cameron Highlands

Grab is not so widely use in Cameron highlands, if you were to use on demand taxi, better ask for the phone number for the convenient (downside is most of them not usually speak English). Car and motorcycle rental is a good choice to get around in this area
